What does your Property Assessment Notice mean to the value of your Home?

By now most people have received their 2012 BC Assessment Notice. This assessment is used by your municipality to base your City Taxes on and is based on location, size, views and current sales in your area. It is more than likely that the assessment doesn’t reflect the real value of your home. As many times assessors do not know the condition of the interior of your home and do not have information on the upgrades you may have done.
If you feel your assessment is too high you have until January 31, 2012 to submit your formal complaint.
